My Publix Trip 2-22-11 SAVED $170.88!!

This is my Publix trip on Feb 22, 2011. I am STILL sick and feel horrible, but I just couldn't not go. Italian Days are here and Oh, the saving you can do.

This picture is of the first side of the goods I bought. It's hard to see but on the *NEW* Crunchy Nut cereal there is a $1.00 off coupon on each box! I had a Target B1G1 Free coupon that just expired and several $1.50 off/1 coupons to go with each box. Making them $1.00 a box. Score!
The Sunbelt Fruit Bars had a GREAT coupon out there for B1G1 Free. I used Target & Bj's for the Bertolli Pasta Sauce. Paid nothing for those. Score again!
4 boxes of Lipton Tea Bags, used BJ's and Target coupons again and 2 Manufacture coupons. The ground beef on the far right was FREE since I bought 2 boxes of Uncle Ben's and found peelies for the rice. I did not have a coupon for the Parmesan cheese or the Lance Crackers. Please do not tell they had some out.

I LOVE seeing registrar receipts like this!! It's makes my day so awesome. The best part about the whole trip is the crowd that gathers to watch the total drop. People always want to see how well you do.

Almost better...Finally!

Well, I guess this picture just about sums us up. My entire family has been sick for over a week with fevers, runny noses, coughing and ear aches. I'm just about over it all. I have given up the run a round with the bleach wipes and antibacterial soaps and have gone back to good old hand washing! And guess what? We're finally getting better. You need those germs to a point, but without them you continue to get sick.

Tomorrow, here in Florida, we're getting to 80 degree's. Yes, you heard right 80. I am getting a pedicure in the morning and headed to the far back pasture to get some sun on these horribly white legs. The boys have barn work to do and I need to help my husband stay strong. I'll make lunch at high noon for everyone. You too, come on!

Sunday, I'm back to doing laundry in front of the television to watch the Daytona 500 just up the road. I'm NOT crazy enough to get into that traffic. My HD is just fine.

What do you think I spent/saved on all this?

I LOVE grocery shopping, have I said that before? If not, I am NOW!! I live for those quiet nights to sit on the couch and go through my coupons and find all the little treasures. The joy a little piece of paper can bring me. My husband laughs at me, I'll be searching and then he hears this little squeal. He knows then, I have found what I needed.

I shopped on Monday morning and had a great cashier. I wish they would all be that way. Turns out she is a fellow "couponier" and totally understood my way of doing things. Yippy!!

** With the Olay Body Wash, I had 2 coupons for buy a Olay Body Wash and get a Secret Deodorant for FREE. I did that twice. I also had a coupon for B2 Secrets and G1 Free. I also had three coupons for the deodorants for .50 off each one. So, this was a GREAT DEAL. I basically paid for one body wash and the rest was FREE!!!

I usually do not buy meat since we have our own cattle. However, when we had this last order packaged, it was done with packs of meat being 2 pounds each. YIKES! I need some smaller packs to use for simple things. So, I had to do the ultimate no-no, buy beef. My husband will have a fit. Shhh, let's hope he doesn't see this post. Ha!

Publix Trip 1-22-11

I did a GREAT job at Publix this week. I bought 12 boxes of Kellogg's Cereal that was on sale for 50% off, PLUS, I had a bunch of coupons to use with them. The rest of the list was just things we needed or needed to stock up on.

If you could only see my freezer, you would see that I am fully stocked on meat, chicken and veggies. We try to have meat at least 4 nights a week. We have fish one night a week, one night is just a good ole' fashioned breakfast night and of course pasta is served one night.

The thing about inspecting nursing homes is that you always get a copy of their menu that is certified by a Registered Dietitian. I change it up a bit for our calorie intake, but I tell you it makes dinner easy to plan. Maybe I'll post that one day. We'll see.

Anyway, for those of you who think I don't buy the "right" foods, I do. I save the most by "stocking up" with coupons and when the item is BOGO. I love the challenging of seeing every week what I can save.
